The Redies Outpatient Therapy Center

Oftentimes following an inpatient hospital or skilled nursing and rehabilitation stay, additional services are required to extend and complement the treatment that was received.  Others may be referred directly from a physician to an outpatient program or following home health care services provided in your home. In these instances, our physical, occupational, and speech therapists can help you build your strength, endurance, flexibility and cognitive functioning to regain your independence.

The Redies Outpatient Therapy Center is located within The EHM Professional Office Building in Saline and adjacent to the Evangelical Home – Saline. The spacious treatment facility offers the area’s only Hydroworx 300 underwater treadmill, as well as private treatment rooms and modern exercise equipment.

Providing comprehensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, our friendly, highly trained team of therapists will develop detailed individualized plans of treatment for each patient. Our goal is to empower patients toward maximum independence with a self-managed program of care, promoting continued health and well-being. Contact Us »

The staff at Redies Outpatient is very professional, yet personal, friendly and caring. I had a total knee replacement at 74 years old and the progress has exceeded my expectations.

Therapy treatment plans are overseen by a physician and may include:

Physical Therapy:  Addresses the illnesses or injuries that limit a person’s ability to move and perform functional tasks in their daily lives. Physical Therapists use a patient’s history and physical examination to arrive at a diagnosis and establish a management plan and, when necessary, incorporate the results of laboratory and imaging studies.

Occupational Therapy: A form of therapy for those recuperating from physical or mental illness that encourages rehabilitation through the performance of activities required in daily life.

Speech Therapy: Training to help people with speech and language problems. A speech therapist will address both the physical as well as cognitive impairments that may impact a person’s speech.

Aquatic Therapy: Treatments and exercises performed in water for relaxation, fitness, physical rehabilitation, and other therapeutic benefit. A qualified aquatic therapist gives constant attention to a patient receiving treatment in the underwater treadmill or our heated therapy pool.

Specialized Outpatient Services

We offer a comprehensive range of physical, occupation and speech therapies.  Some of our specialties include:

Women’s Health Rehabilitation:

Women’s health rehabilitation emphasizes fitness and wellness during recreation, work, and throughout life. Women’s health therapists work with female incontinence, pregnancy, and postpartum, osteoporosis, pelvic and sacroiliac joint dysfunction, post breast cancer rehabilitation, etc. Therapists use every facet of their training to evaluate and treat female clients, promoting and enhancing health.

LSVT Big and Loud:

LSVT LOUD trains people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease to use their voice at a more normal volume. The key to the treatment is helping people “recalibrate” their perceptions so they know how loud or soft they sound to other people and can feel comfortable using a stronger voice at a normal loudness level.

LSVT BIG trains people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease to use their body more normally.  People living with neurological conditions often move differently, with gestures and actions that become smaller and slower. LSVT BIG effectively trains improved movement for any activity, whether “small motor” tasks like buttoning a shirt or “large motor” tasks like getting up from sofa or chair or maintaining balance while walking.

Korebalance® Therapy:

Korebalance® trainer is the only system with VSR (Variable Speed Reaction) training that challenges a patient’s balance through various velocities, angles, and directions, demanding cognitive, visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive engagement.

Back and Cervical Spine Rehabilitation:

Older adults are prone to low back issues. Patients suffering from most types of low back pain are often referred for physical therapy for nonsurgical treatment before considering other more aggressive treatments, including back surgery. Our therapists are experienced in treating low back issues, non-surgical and post-surgical conditions using various techniques, including Garston Technique, Manual Therapy, Kinesiotaping, McKenzie treatment, and Aquatic therapy. Therapists are also skilled in treating orthopedic and musculoskeletal issues including pediatric conditions such as torticollis.

Lymphedema Therapy:

Lymphedema is fluid that builds up in tissues when the lymphatic system is not functioning properly. This condition interferes with normal movement and can be very painful. Lymphedema is a chronic, progressive condition that requires specific management for a lifetime. Our certified staff will treat patients using Specialized Massage Techniques (manual lymph drainage), Compression Therapy, specific exercises and also teach self-home exercises and manual drainage techniques.

Vestibular Rehabilitation:

Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialized treatment to help with primary and secondary problems caused by vestibular disorders. We offer an exercise-based program primarily designed to reduce vertigo and dizziness, gaze stability, and /or imbalance and falls.

Neuro Rehabilitation:

We have experienced staff trained in neurodevelopmental techniques, stroke rehabilitation, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological conditions.  Our therapists will help you improve strength, flexibility, mobility, improving balance, learning the skills necessary to perform daily activities, improving speech and swallowing, and developing new cognitive and behavioral strategies to compensate for any deficits caused by neurologically associated conditions.

Aquatic Therapy:

We offer an aquatic therapy-based exercise rehabilitation program performed by experienced aquatic staff that are CPR and lifeguard trained. Aquatic Physical Therapy helps to improve aerobic capacity/endurance conditioning, balance, coordination and agility, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility, gait and locomotion, relaxation, muscle strength, power, and endurance

Hand Therapy:

We have staff trained in treating hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder injuries, addressing the following conditions:

  • Nerve damage
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Arm and hand fractures
  • Arthritis
  • Tendonitis
  • Overuse injuries
