EHM Senior Solutions Service to Saline

You’re invited! In 2024, EHM Senior Solutions will celebrate our golden anniversary of 50 years of service to Saline.  Save the date for Saturday, April 13 at 7:30pm as we welcome THREE MEN and a TENOR to the Ellen A. Ewing Performing Arts Center at Saline High School stage to SING for SENIORS. General admittance tickets are available for $25.  More information to come!

Holiday Meals on Wheels Appeal

During the month of December, you helped raise funds for Saline Meals on Wheels, a program partnership between EHM Senior Solutions and the Saline Area Senior Center! A huge thank you also goes out to local community partners who lent a hand: Brewed Awakenings gave 10% of gift cards from November 27-December 10 and Mancino’s Pizza and Grinders gave 20% of proceeds from their Dine to Donate program for three nights in December. Because of your support, homebound older adults can feel secure knowing that their next meal is on the way!

EHM Senior Solutions Staff Appreciation

You make our staff feel appreciated! Over the late fall and early winter, EHM was able to hold several employee events thanks to your generosity! Trunk or Treat in October for our employees’ families was a hit and our annual holiday staff parties were enjoyed by all. Your kindness helps show the staff that they truly make a difference!

Grant Recipients

The Evangelical Homes of Michigan Foundation was the recipient of several generous grants this winter that helped offset the cost of charitable care for our residents most in need.  The Helen Kay Charitable Trust granted funds to support charitable care at our Evangelical Home-Saline and the Michigan Nonprofit Association awarded funds to help support operating costs through the Michigan Nonprofit Relief Fund. In addition, the Mary Thompson Foundation provided a grant to purchase new vitals machines for Evangelical Home- Saline. Thank you to these funders for supporting our mission!

Santa to a Senior

The season of giving took on a whole new meaning for the Evangelical Home-Saline this Christmas.  We were overwhelmed with support as the residents were wrapped in a blanket of love and generosity from the community, near and far.  Because of your donations, every single resident was showered with love and gifts this holiday season. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

“Spirit of Christmas” Tree Ornaments

Throughout the holiday season, nearly 100 ornaments were crafted and donated by Salt Valley Arts.  These beautiful ornaments were then purchased and displayed on the “Spirit of Christmas” trees located in the Evangelical Home-Saline, Brecon Village, and Memory Support Center lobbies.  Thank you for making spirits bright and bringing some merriment to our residents as they passed by those trees each day. Extra ornaments were gifted to residents at the Evangelical Home-Saline along with their Christmas presents.  After Christmas, the purchased ornaments were picked up to be enjoyed by donors. 

Church Ambassador Program- Leave a Legacy

Do you belong to a church that could benefit from learning more about the aging industry and services that are offered from EHM Senior Solutions? Each month, a group of lay leaders from area churches meet right here in Saline to learn and take back information and materials to their home churches, and we would love for this group to grow! Our next meeting is Monday, February 12th at 10am in the Professional Office Building Community Room (Entrance A) and will be hearing from Leave a Legacy on considering charitable giving in your estate planning. The public is welcome to attend and light refreshments will be served. 

Best Friends Award @ the Memory Support Center

Monty Wynne, nominated by Marlene Brown, was the recipient of our annual Best Friends Award, funded by donors in memory of Agnes, best friend to many.  This award recognizes an exemplary employee from the Memory Support Center who goes above and beyond and is truly a BEST FRIEND to our residents and families.  A BEST FRIEND models respect, empathy, support, trust, and humor.  Monty “has the ability to know when a resident needs special attention and shows her love for the residents all the time.” Thank you for your dedication, Monty!
