EHM Foundation News & Community Impact
As we move further into the spring season, I’m reminded of how important connection and community are to the work we do every day. At EHM Senior Solutions, that sense of connection comes to life through the dedication of our volunteers, the compassion of our staff, and the generosity of those who support our mission.
This time of year, is especially exciting as we begin preparing for a new joyful event, our Senior Prom fundraiser in June. It will be a celebration that brings energy, laughter, and meaningful moments to older adults and it simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community.
Thank you for being part of that impact. Your continued support helps us create experiences that truly make a difference.
With gratitude,
Jodi Hilberer, Foundation Director

We are thrilled to announce that the Evangelical Homes of Michigan Foundation has been awarded a $10,000 benevolence grant from St. James United Church of Christ in Saline!
We are incredibly grateful to have been selected for this generous support. This funding will directly support our Charitable Care initiative which helps those who need it most. Thank you again to St. James United Church of Christ for your support!

Last month we were able to purchase boxing gear for the wellness area at Brecon Village, all thanks to the Oscar Haab Charitable Remainder Trust. We are so grateful for the opportunity to add this equipment to our wellness space so more residents can stay active, maintain their health, and enjoy safe, accessible opportunities for movement. Support like this helps us continue creating an environment where residents can focus on their well-being and quality of life.

Save the Date for Saturday, June 27th for Starry Night Senior Prom! Join us for a night filled with music, dancing, and connection, all while supporting a wonderful cause.
All proceeds raised from this event will benefit EHM Senior Solutions. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

Life Enrichment at the Evangelical Home-Saline
Life Enrichment at EHM is centered around creating meaningful experiences that support connection, creativity, and overall well-being. Through a variety of engaging activities and opportunities, residents are encouraged to stay active, build relationships, and find joy in everyday moments.
One of the people who brings this to life in a truly special way is our volunteer, Karen Shinevar. Karen faithfully joins us for every bingo session, offering her time and heart, especially to our memory care residents. She makes a point to learn each resident’s name, cheering them on and celebrating their wins with genuine enthusiasm. The joy on their faces when she calls out to congratulate them is something truly special.
Karen goes beyond simply helping with activities. She takes the time to understand each resident as an individual—what they enjoy, what makes them smile, and what brightens their day. For example, she knows one resident is a devoted University of Michigan fan, so she often sings the fight song with him as she walks him back to his room. It’s these thoughtful, personal moments that create lasting impact.
Karen’s compassion and dedication have helped build meaningful connections with our residents, and we are incredibly grateful for the kindness and joy she brings to our community.
